The Changing Face of Ely.
The Year 2000 Market Place Re-Development
The horrible 1960's building which
replaced the old Corn Exchange and other historic buildings which should
have been retained is to get a much needed facelift. It has been sold to
London property developer Compco who have asked a London based firm of architects
to revamp the frontage to match the surrounding buildings and to make it
in keeping with the historic nature of the city centre - and we will follow
the progress as it happens!
