WHERE:

Playgroup takes place at the Forum which is a large, warm, well lit and spacious hall situated across the Cathedral car park on Barton Road.

AGE:

Our playgroup offers care and education for children below school age starting from 2 years and nine months. We do operate a waiting list so it is advisable to get your child's name down as soon as possible.

SESSIONS:

PUFFINS PLAYGROUP is open 4 days
a week at the following times:

MON. 9.15 to 11.45am and 12.15 to 2.45pm.
TUES. 9.15 to 11.45am
THUR. 9.15 to 11.45am
FRI. 9.15 to 11.45am and 12.15 to 2.45pm.

Children start with a minimum of 2 sessions which can be increased to 4 depending on how the child is coping, building up to as many as 4 after a term. Please discuss your individual needs with the playgroup leader.

We provide free places for 3 year olds from the 2nd term after their 3rd birthday, or put another way, from the term before the term in which they are 4

COSTS:

Morning sessions & afternoon sessions cost £4 each.
Fees are payable at the beginning of each half term.
Puffins playgroup is now part of the Cambridgeshire Care and Education Partnership offering free places to children the 2nd term after their 3rd birthday, until they start school.

A TYPICAL DAY AT PUFFINS:

- Playdough and messy play
- Craft sessions, cookery, collage etc.
- Painting and drawing
-Train set and cars, garages
- Story time
- Jigsaws and other puzzles
- Dressing up / home corner
- Quiet time in the book corner
- Group time - children talk about this weeks theme
- Ball games
- Indoor and outdoor play, ball games

We follow The Foundation Stage Curriculum.

PARENTS ROTA:

Once your child has settled in to the playgroup we ask all parents/carers to help out on a rota basis. It is really important to your child that you help and that they show you what they do at their playgroup. Staff will give you guidance as to how you can help when you come in. Your help will he much appreciated. We ask people to help out at least once a term. This enables us to keep down the cost of sessions and keep the ratios of adults to children high.
